Working part-time for a local jewelry during high school not only paid Jesse Riddle's college tuition, but also introduced him to a business that truly fueled his entrepreneurial spirit over 48 years.

He learned the business from the ground up, attending various trade schools, earning a business degree at the University of South Dakota, and ultimately becoming a GIA graduate gemologist.

In 1959 after opening the first jewelry store, Riddle family members began joining the company and spurred the growth of new stores. Early on, the company was not afraid to take risks which resulted in the creation of many firsts in the jewelry industry.

Numerous jewelry options became available with the construction of their own manufacturing facility which today supplies many of the jewelry designs seen in 46 Riddle’s stores and the implementation of training programs for managers and service personnel. The company’s extraordinary design capabilities with the help of the Digital Goldsmith give them a unique edge in the industry.

In the early 1990’s a trip to Belgium turned a chance meeting with one of Belgium’s leading diamond dealers into a partnership that has allowed them to buy direct from the diamond capitols of the world and remain competitive on all their loose diamond sales.
